The PARDO HOUSE
is made of 4 interlocking but separate quarters, each made up like a monk´s cell with a bed, a desk, table and chair, a small toilet closet and a bath built into the floor of the main room. The surrounding grounds have short walls and they have recently planted abundant trees and shrubs which will grow large and shade the house. The key concept here is asymmetry: we see it everywhere, most of the shapes do not repeat themselves exactly anywhere else. Outside looking in, each chamber looks like a colorful, roadside motel except with unmatching, antique, scandinavian design furniture. Each room is paved with a different color brick: red, brown, yellow and blue, therefore each room is named after the color it has on the floor. There are still plans in the works for hanging lamps and psychedelic wall paintings. Although it could be serious stuff, Pardo makes the place fun.
