This is a magazine that has some ideals and wants to stick by them. It wants to make a difference. People who want to make a difference don't always accomplish anything, but at least they try. This magazine has a whole lot of reviews, which means that someone listened to a thousand records and cared enough to write about them. It is obvious that they donīt have a big budget, but it is also obvious that they feel good about it. A bit like a lot of the music they review: they seem happy to do uncompromising job that they feel proud of. And they are happy to do it by themselves. This magazine seems like a cross between a small zine and a glossy magazine. It feels comfortable around our house. In the reviews there is a nice edge of criticism and humor. They say a few big truths very boldy: "male dominated modern music endevour...muscular avantgardist" and it gets way funnier, but I will let you read it. And eh! finally someone is a bit surprised when in an electronic sound compilation the artist featured are 5, twenty year old, white, males!!!!!

Having said that I donīt understand why the reviews talk so many truths about some music and are so honest about some musicians, and bypass others? I guess that is where personal taste comes in. I felt bad reading Lesserīs review. He is not only a great person (which I guess it doesnīt really matter here) but he is also no example of the worst evil going on in sound. "It all sounds the same", Rick Rawling, the reviewer says. So give all IDM bad reviews, no? Otherwise I felt this magazine is about the joy of writing, at the same time it talks about sound issues, without taking the whole thing too seriously. This is what, to my understanding, a music magazine should do. Many of the reviews evoke more than they say, for example Koji Asanoīs review is quite beautiful, talking more about sadness, skies, nature and towns, than about music. And that is great because sounds are about the world, so is writing. Poetic titles divide the sections of the magazine, bringing ideas into the sound such as: "No probable purpose, and "Drowning in a sea of Bliss". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
